John Williamson
CEO/Principal Engineer
John co-founded KiloNewton in 2017 and acts as CEO and Principal Engineer. Prior to KiloNewton, John led Array Technologies engineering and development as part of their executive team for 11 years. He is a registered PE in NM and TX, with an MSME from UNM.
Amy Suarez
COO
Amy co-founded KiloNewton in 2017 and leads KiloNewton’s operations, including hiring, accounting, and facilities. Past experience includes 10+ years in small business management and automotive technology. Amy attended CNM and UNM and earned a degree in Automotive Technology.
James McBurney
Chief Commercial Officer
Jim leads KiloNewton’s Commercial & Business Development activities. Prior to joining KiloNewton in 2020, Jim worked in the finance and energy & power sectors based in both New York and London. He earned a BA degree from Yale, an MBA degree from Harvard Business School, and served as in Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps.
Marcus Yip
Project Manager
Marcus joined KiloNewton in 2023 and serves as Project Manager, leading efforts to deliver project completion on time and on budget. Previous to KiloNewton, Marcus managed the delivery of construction projects, as well as internal strategic initiatives, in the telecommunications industry. Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University.
Vera Leader
Renewable Energy Project Manager and Consultant
Vera conducts project analysis, technical evaluations, and feasibility studies, utilizing design software to enhance the efficiency of sustainable energy systems at Kilonewton. With a background as a senior wind turbine technician and site quality coordinator, Vera holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and is also a qualified electrical worker with CAL OSHA 10 certification.
Anima Bista
Renewable Civil/Structural Engineer III
Anima is involved in the Civil/Structural aspect of our projects. She has a MS degree in Civil Engineering from University of New Mexico and has worked in the Solar industry for 5 years. She has experience working in various rooftop and ground mount commercial and residential projects. At KiloNewton, she will be working as a consulting engineer assisting with structural designs and consulting. She is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in New Mexico and Texas.
Kaveh Malek
Mechanical Engineer II
Kaveh is a Mechanical Engineer II at KiloNewton, supporting renewable energy projects with a focus on solar tracker systems and mechanical design. His work supports engineering analysis, design development, and product optimization efforts across KiloNewton’s renewable energy portfolio, in coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Kaveh holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and is FE certified, with additional training in ASME FEA and professional SOLIDWORKS CAD design.
Dana Al Shanti
Civil / Structural Engineer
Dana is a Civil/Structural Engineer at KiloNewton, where she supports renewable energy projects with a focus on structural analysis, geotechnical evaluation, and solar infrastructure design. Her work combines field insight and technical precision with sustainable design principles, emphasizing safety, reliability, and structural performance in every project. Prior to joining KiloNewton, Dana collaborated with NASA on research exploring civil and environmental engineering applications in advanced systems design.
Zane Nordquist
GIS Analyst & Developer III, Technical Lead
As a GIS analyst for Kilonewton, Zane uses his skills in geoinformatics, computer & data science to program solutions for geospatial problems. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where he was involved in climatological research.
Shiva Sandhireddy
GIS Analyst & Developer III
Shiva has a background in Computer Science with a focus on development and applying AI/ML to geospatial domain. At KiloNewton, he develops advanced geoprocessing tools to strengthen the SolarSpace® proprietary software, enabling faster workflows and more optimal solar site designs based on detailed terrain analytics insights that enable better decision-making.
Liza Flowers
GIS Analyst & Developer II
Liza has a BS degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the University of New Mexico and participates in the American Indian Science and Engineering Society in Albuquerque NM. As a GIS Analyst of KiloNewton, Liza focuses on terrain effects on renewable projects and develops the SolarSpace® GIS- based solar site optimization software.
X Suarez-Reidy
CAD Technician
X has a long history in the steel industry, having worked at Array Technologies and Miguel Edwards LLC in Seattle as a fabricator after graduation. X is now working as a CAD technician at Kilonewton as the next step in their career.
Lucas Sanchez
Account & Solutions Specialist
Lucas supports KiloNewton’s sales efforts and day-to-day operations. With a strong understanding of engineering and software development, Lucas works to deliver tailored solutions for our clients with a focus on efficient sales processes and customer satisfaction. Lucas is also currently attending school to obtain their degree in Mechanical Engineering.
